Keto Asian Sweet & Spicy Mayo Sauce Recipe – Health Starts in the Kitchen (1)

I’ve been a long time fan of Asian-Inspired flavors. Some of my favorite recipes include my , my Marinated Asian Sesame Cucumber Salad and my Asian Chicken Salad with Sesame Ginger Dressing.

We first fell in love with this sweet, spicy, mayonnaise deliciousness as a part of a Spicy Tuna Poke dish at our favorite local Hawaiian-themed restaurant.

For a long time I resisted the urge to make duplicate the recipe, thinking that if we could eat this dish it at home, there might be less incentive for Ray to take me out for poke!

But I simply couldn’t resist the challenge.

Plus I wanted to make sure my Spicy Mayo Sauce was 100% Keto-Friendly too!

What is the difference between Spicy Mayo and Yum Yum Sauce?

Spicy mayo is essentially that, a mayonnaise sauce that’s has hot sauce added but with an Asian flare.

Yum Yum sauce is also known as WhiteSauceor SakuraSaucethis dippingsauceis commonly found in Japanese steakhouses. You can use this as a salad dressing, for a dip, to pour over grilled seafood, chicken, meats etc.

This Keto Asian Sweet & Spicy Mayo Sauce Recipe is hybrid of the 2! It’s a spicy mayo with some additional asian-inspired flavors.

Why is this the Best Spicy Mayo Recipe?

When you search the internet for spicy mayo recipes or yum yum sauce recipe, you’ll soon notice that the vast majority are simply mayonnaise with hot sauce.

Talk about boring, right??

While yes, that combo can be okay… it’s not knock your socks off deliciousness that you will become addicted to.

Not to mention that both Spicy Mayo Recipe and Yum Yum Sauce recipes both are normally unhealthy and can be very high in carbs!

The first thing I learned upon replicating the flavors of our beloved spicy tuna poke dish was that most similar recipes that I found that were more “authentic” used Japanese Kewpie Mayonnaise.

But upon reading the ingredients, it’s a HARD NO from a health perspective. Filled with extremely toxic canola oil and MSG.

And to bring a sweet into the sauce to balance out the spice, most often high carb sweeteners are used.

For this Keto Yum Yum Sauce Recipe, we’re sticking to only the best ingredients and eliminating the carbs!
