Connect my kronos via midi to a Yamaha DTX multi 12 (sampler pad trigger module...) (I do not want the yamaha to control the kronos at all, i want it to be kronos out to DTX in.) What i really need is to be able to send tempo changes to it, but only once in a while. Like at the beginning of the song, and maybe once or twice in the middle. I do not need to send meter changes because we will not be using an accented beat 1. In my mind right now, I believe i can set the kronos to transmit clock and then i can set the yamaha to receive clock, this would be great, however I do not want the tempo changing every time i do a patch change (which i do a lot of) even if its the same tempo for a string of patches, the kronos would still send it a new clock, causing me to have to do all my patch changes in precise time.... What I'm wondering is if anyone knows how i can send a tempo change to my drummers module only in certain times? i dont mind having an extra set list slot for it.... any advice will be appreciated ![Korg Forums :: View topic (16) Korg Forums :: View topic (16)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==) _________________

There is no option to lock the BPM internally to a global setting! As such, I have long surrendered to using an external master clock source running into my Korg workstation, and at the same time to my other sync'ed gear. Its the only way to switch programs and combis "on the fly", and NOT have the BPM switch to that which was saved with the preset....other than to go into each combi and program, and save a new BPM in advance. This of course is very daunting, and not functional...... Of course you can use the sequencer to set a fixed tempo, and even record periodic tempo changes......but this again does not let you improvise by calling up random preset combis and programs and having the BPM fixed to a global setting. Alas, I think you may need to consider using a third device as the tempo master....or settle on using the DTX as the master and making your tempo changes there. _________________ http://soundcloud.com/ronf-3/sets/ronf-music https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCr1zAKpV_F226LQZrUYGPQA Favorite Gear: Kronos 61, M3, Z1, Radias, KPro, KP3, Moog Voyager, Foogers, Virus TI, Jupiter 80, Integra7, GAIA, SPD-30, Kiwi 106, RE-201, MC808, RC505, MV8800, DSI P6 and OB6 and P12, Ensoniq SQ80, EMU MP-7, Eventide H7600, Eclipse, SPACE, Pitchfactor, Timefactor, Looperlative LP-1, Axe FX Ultra, Nord Modular, DSI Tetra, Tempest, PEK, JDXA, Eurorack Modular, Octatrack, MDUW, Monomachine, A4, RYTM, Waldorf Q Phoenix, MWXTk, Blofeld, TR8. But I don't know that box in particular. Perhaps you can create multiple presets, all with the same drum-beat (or your necessary variations)....but with different tempo changes. Then all you need to do is switch the preset, and the Kronos will follow along to the new BPM. The only way to get Kronos to follow a fixed BPM whilst changing preset combis and programs, is to set it to chase external clock. That is a *global* BPM setting (the only one available here), rather than a "per-preset" BPM setting. _________________ http://soundcloud.com/ronf-3/sets/ronf-music https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCr1zAKpV_F226LQZrUYGPQA Favorite Gear: Kronos 61, M3, Z1, Radias, KPro, KP3, Moog Voyager, Foogers, Virus TI, Jupiter 80, Integra7, GAIA, SPD-30, Kiwi 106, RE-201, MC808, RC505, MV8800, DSI P6 and OB6 and P12, Ensoniq SQ80, EMU MP-7, Eventide H7600, Eclipse, SPACE, Pitchfactor, Timefactor, Looperlative LP-1, Axe FX Ultra, Nord Modular, DSI Tetra, Tempest, PEK, JDXA, Eurorack Modular, Octatrack, MDUW, Monomachine, A4, RYTM, Waldorf Q Phoenix, MWXTk, Blofeld, TR8. |
